Biography
David J. Hardy is a senior research programmer at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he is the lead developer of the NAMD molecular dynamics application. He received his Ph.D. in computer science in 2006 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and was joint recipient of the ACM Gordon Bell Special Prize for HPC-Based COVID-19 Research in 2020. His
research interests include methods for molecular dynamics, fast methods for calculating electrostatics, and GPU acceleration of molecular modeling applications.
