Biography
Valeria's academic background is pretty diverse, ranging from geometric modelling for computer graphics applications to computational fluid dynamics and high-performance computing. Currently, Valeria's main research areas of interest are in numerical methods for the solution of Partial Differential Equations, with applications in atmospheric flows for climate models.

Valeria received her PhD in Applied Mathematics from NJIT in 2018, and then completed a postdoc in the department of Computer Science under the supervision of Prof. Jed Brown, in the CEED project. Currently, Valeria works in the Climate Modeling Alliance (CliMA) project at Caltech where she co-develops on the open-source dycore for CliMA's new Earth System Model.
