Biography
I am a recovering particle physicist, now doing software engineering and architecture. For the past 20 years I have been a core developer for the ATLAS experiment at CERN's Large Hadron Collider, specializing in framework components. I spearheaded the effort to bring the ATLAS framework into the world of multithreading, and more recently into heterogeneous computing environments. I am also a co-lead of the HEP CCE/PPS group which is a multi-lab consortium exploring portable solutions for high energy physics software in heterogeneous computing environments.
